BankID is based on a common infrastucture developed by the Norwegian banking sector
through a cooperation also called, BankID.
This was coordinated by the Norwegian Savings Banks Association and Finance Norway (FNO),
the Norwegian trade organisation for banks, insurance companies
and other financial institutions.
The organisation BankID Norway has been established to maintain administrative and operational responsibilities
as well as continuing development of the actual BankID service.
All Norwegian banks are involved in the BankID cooperation and contribute to its development through
dedicated projects and workshops.
